Chair
Chrissie Wolfe – Irwin Mitchell
Chrissie Wolfe continues her role as Chair for a second year running. Chrissie is an international personal injury and cosmetic surgery specialist at Irwin Mitchell and legal vlogger for her own Youtube channel, Law and Broader. Chrissie is also an ambassador for local charity, Lovebrum, and a mentor to a number of aspiring professionals across the city. When not behind her desk, Chrissie can usually be found behind the wheel of a fast car!
Vice Chair and Treasurer
Tara Wright – Irwin Mitchell
Tara Wright is new to the committee this year and takes on the role of Vice Chairman and Treasurer. Tara is a specialist family law solicitor at Irwin Mitchell and an aspiring podcaster aiming to help de-mystify the Family Court process and procedures. When not at work, Tara participates in local amateur dramatic productions and loves going on long walks with her Beagle, Toby.
Secretary
Alex Morris – Knights plc
Alex Morris joins the committee this year as our General Secretary. His role is to organise committee meetings, prepare meeting agendas and take minutes of the meetings. Outside of work Alex has a keen interest in football and has the unfortunate hobby of supporting Birmingham City.
CSR Representative
Tona Zefi – Knights plc
Tona Zefi joins us this year as our charity representative. Tona is a solicitor practicing Commercial Litigation at Knights plc. Tona has raised funds for a host of local and national charities including Ultra White Collar Boxing (UWCB) in aid of cancer research which took place in September last year. When not behind her desk, Tona enjoys going to the gym and spending time with her little boy.
Liaison Officer
Neena Sangha – Trowers & Hamlins
Neena is an Associate in the Corporate Commercial team at Trowers & Hamlins LLP and joins us this year as our Liaison Officer. Her role is to liaise with the Birmingham Law Society to represent and offer feedback on issues affecting junior lawyers in Birmingham. When not at work, Neena enjoys going to the gym, seeing friends and a good gin & tonic!
Junior Lawyers Division Representative
Tom Kearney – Eversheds Sutherland
Tom Kearney continues his role as the Junior Lawyers Division rep where he will sit on the national JLD Committee to represent BSG and its members. Tom is a Real Estate Solicitor at Eversheds Sutherland and outside of work spends his time training in Mixed Martial Arts and playing Bass Guitar.
Events Officer
Marissa Jacquet – Grove Tompkins Bosworth
As our new Events Officer Marissa Jacquet will be involved in organising events for members throughout the year. Marissa is a Commercial Property Solicitor at Grove Tompkins Bosworth. Marissa is also active in encouraging diversity and inclusivity within the profession at events such as the Black Women’s Aspiring Solicitors Brunch. Outside of work Marissa is a classically trained soprano singer and you can often find her performing in the City Centre with Colmore Chorus the Colmore BID choir.
PR Officer
Bal Atwal
Bal Atwal is a qualified solicitor specialising in Real Estate. He trained at Trowers & Hamlins and qualified at DLA Piper, both in Birmingham. Bal was previously on the BTSS committee as PR Officer. Bal will be in control of all social media platforms for BSG and will help raise the profile of the organisation in the city. Bal played rugby throughout his studies and represented Birmingham at county level. Bal enjoys watching sport, in particular following the UFC and boxing.
Communications Officer
Phil Hunt – Knights plc
Phil Hunt continues his role on the committee as Communications Officer, maintaining the BSG website and subscriber list and sending out the BSG emails. Phil is a Commercial Property Solicitor at Knights plc and spends his spare time watching films, going on walks, feeding his interest in history and occasionally thinking about taking part in a more active hobby.
